Shane at Divine replaced the Fusion stereo and speakers on my boat. He did an incredible job guiding me to the right solution and then doing the install. He was mobile so the experience was quite convenient and the workmanship was of the highest quality. In addition, he gave me recommendations to other service providers to do repairs on my boat. My experience was terrific and I highly recommend Shane and Divine.

Shane was great! Very knowledgeable about audio and electronics, great suggestions for products. Best of all, he picked up my boat and returned it the very next day with all new sound system! Really happy with the update so far!

Shane is wonderful to work with. He put a much needed upgraded sound system on my yacht in Lake Union and some other nice gadgets. Beautiful workmanship.

Teak Restoration Seattle

Gray, Mildewed Teak Can Come Back To Gold

Teak’s natural oils deplete under sun, rain and salt, leaving that silvery gray patina every PNW boat owner knows. In our damp climate, mildew and mold move in on top of it. Left long enough, the grain raises, the surface gets rough and the wood starts to degrade in earnest.

Restoration done right is gentle. We use marine grade two part cleaners and brighteners that lift dirt, mildew and old sealers without tearing up the wood fibers, the mistake that pressure washers and harsh scrubbing make. Where the surface needs it, light sanding evens things out before brightening brings back the warm golden color under the gray.

The finish choice matters and we help you make it honestly: teak oil for the classic look with more frequent upkeep, or a quality sealer for longer protection with less maintenance. Either way, well kept brightwork is one of the highest value details on any boat, for both looks and resale.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Oil or sealer, which should I choose?

Oil gives the classic rich look but needs reapplication every few months in our climate. Sealer lasts longer, often a full season, with a slightly more matte look. If you want low maintenance, seal. If you love the oiled look and do not mind the upkeep, oil.

Will cleaning damage the caulk seams?

Not the way we do it. Harsh pressure washing and aggressive scrubbing damage seams and fibers. Our process is built around being gentle on both.

How often does teak need this?

In the Pacific Northwest, a full clean and brighten once a year keeps teak in good shape, with the finish refreshed as needed. Neglected teak needs more sanding, which removes wood, so regular care genuinely extends its life.

Can you restore teak that has been gray for years?

Almost always, yes. Even long neglected teak usually comes back with cleaning, light sanding and brightening. Severely weathered wood takes more work but the transformation is dramatic.
