Shane at Divine replaced the Fusion stereo and speakers on my boat. He did an incredible job guiding me to the right solution and then doing the install. He was mobile so the experience was quite convenient and the workmanship was of the highest quality. In addition, he gave me recommendations to other service providers to do repairs on my boat. My experience was terrific and I highly recommend Shane and Divine.

Shane was great! Very knowledgeable about audio and electronics, great suggestions for products. Best of all, he picked up my boat and returned it the very next day with all new sound system! Really happy with the update so far!

Shane is wonderful to work with. He put a much needed upgraded sound system on my yacht in Lake Union and some other nice gadgets. Beautiful workmanship.

Boat Polishing That Removes Scratches, Swirls And Dock Rash

Gelcoat is harder than automotive paint and needs a different approach. Marine grade compounds, the right pads and correct machine technique are the difference between a finish that is genuinely corrected and one that is just filled with oils that wash off in a month.

We correct scratches, swirl marks, dock rash, fender rub and buffer trails from previous work. Each defect gets matched to the least aggressive process that removes it, because every pass with a compound removes a small amount of gelcoat and the goal is always the result with the least material lost.

Polishing follows compounding to refine the surface: haze and micro marring from the cutting stage are removed, leaving the deep, clear gloss that makes a boat look new. On dark hull sides especially, this refinement stage is what separates professional work from a quick buff.

Capabilities

What We Do

Thermal, low light and engine room cameras, installed and networked as one system.

Scratch & Dock Rash Removal

Rub rail scuffs, fender marks and docking scratches compounded out or visibly minimized.

Swirl & Haze Correction

Buffer trails and wash induced swirls removed with fine polishing stages.

Machine Polishing

Rotary and dual action polishing matched to the surface, from heavy cut to final jewel finish.

Spot Correction

Isolated damage areas blended into surrounding finish so repairs disappear.

Dark Hull Specialists

Navy, black and dark blue hulls corrected without holograms, the hardest finishes to get right.

Hardware & Detail Areas

Around cleats, rails, windows and graphics finished by hand where machines cannot reach.

How It Goes

The Process

Four steps from the first look at your boat to a night test on the water.

01

Wash & Inspect

The surface is cleaned and inspected under proper light so every defect is mapped before work starts.

02

Compound

Defects are cut out with the least aggressive compound and pad combination that works.

03

Polish

Finer stages refine the surface, removing haze and restoring full gloss and clarity.

04

Protect

Wax or sealant applied so the corrected finish stays corrected.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Can deep scratches be removed from gelcoat?

If your fingernail catches in the scratch, it usually cannot be fully compounded out without removing too much material, but it can be significantly improved. Deeper damage may need gelcoat repair first, which we also do.

How is this different from a quick buff and wax?

A buff and wax adds shine temporarily. Correction actually removes the defects. The difference shows after the first few washes, when a quick job dulls back and a corrected finish stays glossy.

Will compounding damage my graphics?

We mask and work around vinyl graphics, or remove and replace them if they are past their life. Painted graphics are handled with appropriate care.

What does compounding and polishing cost?

It depends on boat size, condition and how many stages are needed. It is quoted per job after we see the boat. Exterior detailing packages start at $850.
