Shane at Divine replaced the Fusion stereo and speakers on my boat. He did an incredible job guiding me to the right solution and then doing the install. He was mobile so the experience was quite convenient and the workmanship was of the highest quality. In addition, he gave me recommendations to other service providers to do repairs on my boat. My experience was terrific and I highly recommend Shane and Divine.

Shane was great! Very knowledgeable about audio and electronics, great suggestions for products. Best of all, he picked up my boat and returned it the very next day with all new sound system! Really happy with the update so far!

Shane is wonderful to work with. He put a much needed upgraded sound system on my yacht in Lake Union and some other nice gadgets. Beautiful workmanship.

Boat Waxing Seattle

Boat Waxing: The Cheapest Insurance Your Gelcoat Will Get

Wax is not cosmetic. It is the sacrificial layer that takes the UV, salt and grime so your gelcoat does not. A boat that gets sealed every season needs a light polish each spring. A boat that goes three seasons without protection needs multi stage compounding. The math always favors the wax.

In the Pacific Northwest we recommend a full machine wax or sealant at the start of each season, with a second application midseason for boats kept uncovered on saltwater. Marine sealants outperform traditional carnauba in our climate: longer life, better UV resistance and stronger water behavior in constant drizzle.

Application technique matters. We machine apply for thin, even coverage, hand work the areas around hardware and non skid, and buff to a clean finish with no residue in seams or on trim. The result beads water, sheds dirt and makes every wash faster for the rest of the season.

Capabilities

What We Do

Thermal, low light and engine room cameras, installed and networked as one system.

Marine Sealants

Polymer sealants with the longest protection life, the right choice for most PNW boats.

Carnauba Wax

Traditional deep warm gloss for owners who love the look and maintain more frequently.

Machine Application

Thin, even coverage applied by machine, which uses less product and protects better than heavy hand coats.

Hull & Topsides

Full hull sides, topsides, decks, hardtops and superstructure protected.

Metal & Glass

Stainless, glass and isinglass cleaned and protected as part of the service.

Maintenance Programs

Scheduled seasonal waxing so protection never lapses, often paired with wash programs.

How It Goes

The Process

Four steps from the first look at your boat to a night test on the water.

01

Wash & Prep

The boat is washed and decontaminated so wax bonds to clean gelcoat, not dirt.

02

Light Polish Where Needed

Any haze or light oxidation is polished out first, because wax locks in whatever is underneath.

03

Apply

Wax or sealant machine applied in thin even coats, hand worked around hardware and non skid.

04

Buff & Inspect

Buffed to a clean finish with seams, trim and glass checked for residue.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Wax or sealant, which is better?

For most Pacific Northwest boats, a quality polymer sealant. It lasts longer in constant moisture and gives better UV protection. Carnauba gives a warmer look but needs reapplication more often. We recommend based on how the boat is kept.

How often should my boat be waxed?

Once a season minimum, at spring commissioning. Boats kept uncovered on saltwater do best with a second application midseason.

Can you wax over light oxidation?

We will not. Wax over oxidation locks the chalk in and the finish never looks right. Light oxidation gets polished out first, then protected.

What does waxing cost?

It scales with length and condition. Exterior detailing including machine wax starts at $850. Boats in good shape needing only wash and wax run less.
